PRP Injections

Platelet-rich plasma therapy, or PRP, is a treatment modality for arthritis and many other conditions. It is done by drawing blood from the patient and spinning down the whole blood to remove the red blood cells, leaving behind a high concentration of growth factors and cytokines. This high concentration of platelets and growth factors is then injected into the injured area, where it stimulates the healing of soft tissues and joint regeneration.

Since the procedure uses your own blood, there is a much lower risk of reactions compared to other injections.
Most people can continue their daily activities following PRP injections. An immediate difference may not be noticed. However, in weeks or months, it may be noticed that the injury is healing faster than it would have without PRP.
Ask about PRP to see if it is right for you.
